BellSouth ends 2005 strong, considering Katrina's impact

Despite the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina, BellSouth ended the year better than Wall Street had predicted. Although the company experienced a 54 percent drop in fourth-quarter profits, it still did better than many experts had expected it to, resulting in BellSouth's stock going up 2 percent.
