Most Admired Telecommunications Company: AT&T

Fortune Magazine recently announced the most admired companies of 2006, naming AT&T number one among telecommunications companies. AT&T has reached this position more times than any other telecommunications company since Fortune began ranking the most admired companies.

"The best name in the business, once again, has the best reputation. The new AT&T is leading the way into a new era of integrated communications and entertainment services," said Chairman and CEO of AT&T Inc. Edward E. Whitacre Jr., according to the article AT&T Inc. Named America's Most Admired Telecommunications Company for 2006. AT&T is a leader in several telecommunications categories, including DSL broadband services, business communication services and wireless services (through Cingular).
