TiVo verified as cable-ready

Soon, you might not need that set top box to watch digital TV. Last week, TiVo was verified as the first digital cable-ready (DCR) product by CableLabs. Because CableLabs found the TiVo compliant, they will allow TiVo to build and deploy CableCARD™-enabled DCR digital video recorders (DVR), enabling "consumers to enjoy unidirectional digital and high-definition (HD) cable programming without the need for a set-top box."
