TiVo wins suit with EchoStar

EchoStar did infringe on patents held by TiVo, at least according to a Texas jury. The jury determined that EchoStar will have to pay $73.9 million in damages to TiVo due to the patent infringement.

EchoStar plans to appeal the verdict and said in a statement that they believe they will ultimately prevail. EchoStar claims that the current patent held by TiVo is overly broad.
