LCD shipments on the rise

According to DisplaySearch, a consulting and display market research firm, global LCD shipments went up 135 percent year-over-year; however shipments fell 14 percent quarter-over-quarter. They ranked the top LCD TVs by unit share as well as by revenue. The top five LCD TVs by unit share were:

1. Philips/Magnavox
2. Sharp
3. Samsung
4. Sony
5. LGE

However, the top five LCD TVs by revenue fell in a different order. They were as follows:

1. Sony
2. Samsung
3. Sharp
4. Philips/Magnavox
5. LGE
